An art exhibit titled “LIKHA” was launched today, August 15, 2017 at Fisher Mall Event Center Quezon City by Grupo Sining Angono which showcased 40 of their paintings featuring the culture and traditions of Angono.

Vice-Mayor Antonio Rubin, Councilor Jeri Mae Calderon, Bobby del Rosario, Chairman of Fisher Mall and Ray del Rosario, President of Fisher Mall served as guests during the opening and ribbon cutting.

Fisher Mall officials said they chose Angono artists as the establishment’s first major art exhibitor because the town has a lot of painters who are considered as among the best in the country.

Angono is known as the ‘Art Capital of the Philippines,’

During his remarks, Vice-Mayor Rubin expressed his appreciation to Fisher Mall officials for giving the artists of Angono the opportunity to present their works and share their creativity.

The Grupo Sining Angono participating artists include Carlos “Totong” Francisco II, Bernardo Supsupin, Charlie Val, Ahmbet Lugtu, Nani Reyes, Jovito Andres, Dino Blanco, Jao Mapa, Idr. Monserrat Muros, Norman Blanco with guest artists Michael Blanco, Noel Blanco and Joy Perez Blanco-Alejandro.

The exhibit runs until August 19.

Young musicians belonging to Las Cuerdas de Angono from the Regional Lead School for the Arts in Angono also performed during the opening.

This exhibit is part of Angono’s 79th founding anniversary on August 19, 2017.
